There is a story of Hanumanji and Bhima following the forest festival of Mahabharata. The lesson of this story is that we should not be arrogant under any circumstances. Pride and anger ruin all work. The place where Hanumanji and Bhima met is located near Badrinath Dham in Uttarakhand. This place is known as Hanuman Chatti. Hanuman Chatti is about 12 kilometers from Badrinath temple.
Bhima went to get flowers for Draupadi
All the Pandavas and Draupadis were in exile in the forest festival of Mahabharata. He lived in Badrinath area. One day Draupadi saw a Brahma lotus flowing in the Ganges and requested Bhima to bring a similar flower.
Bhim reached Badrinath to fulfill Draupadi's wish. Along the way Bhim saw an old monkey. The monkey's tail was spread out along the way. Bhima said to the monkey, "Remove your tail from the road, I can't cross the tail." But, as the monkey says, old age has made me very weak. I can't even remove my tail. You do the work.
Bhim tried hard but he could not shake his tail. Then Bhim realized that this is no ordinary monkey. Then Bhima prayed to the monkey to come in real form. Hanumanji appeared before Bhima in his true form.
Hanumanji told Bhima that he should never be proud of his strength. Never consider anyone weak, never get angry at anyone for no reason. Bhima apologized to God for his behavior and vowed never to be arrogant again.
At present, the doors of Badrinath Dham are closed for about 6 months on cold days. The temple will reopen for Darshan after April. The Hanuman Chatti temple in the Badrinath area is also closed at present.
