Order to the Government to formulate a Statewide Policy on Distribution of Remedies
In the Suomoto writ on Corona, the High Court asked the government, "Why aren't patients taken on an earlier basis in 108?" Answer it
If government cannot provide remedivisor to private hospitals, it should take responsibility for treatment of all corona patients: IMA In a suo moto writ petition against the growing transition to corona, the High Court has directed the government to formulate a policy on the distribution of remediation across the state. This policy should be made taking into account all the factors and regardless of whether the patient is in a government hospital or a private hospital, patients who are on a ventilator should get remedicivir first, then the patient in ICU and then the patients on oxygen. They should get remedesavir based on how long they have been on oxygen and lastly less severe patients who need it should get remedesivir. Giving remedivir should be based on the severity of the patient, it has nothing to do with whether he is in a government hospital or a private hospital.
The High Court also said that in 108, patients are taken on an earlier basis. In fact patients with more serious conditions should be moved first. The High Court has sought an answer from the government on the issue. In addition 108 ambulances only take patients from home. Does not take patients admitted to other hospitals. As a result, if a patient is admitted in a private hospital and his report is positive, he has to go to the hospital in a private car and even if the bed is available, the hospitals do not admit such patients.
Before the High Court, the President of the Gujarat Branch of the Indian Medical Association, Dr. Devendra Patel said the state government must give remedial injections to private hospitals just like government hospitals. Otherwise the government should take responsibility for the admission and complete treatment of all covid positive patients and if the government cannot do so then it should provide all the necessary medicines to the private hospitals.
"This is a delicate issue and the state government should handle it carefully," the high court said. The government's health secretary should hold an emergency meeting with all concerned and formulate a policy. This policy should be implemented across the state. Remedies should not be distributed at the discretion of any Municipal Commissioner or Collector. Remediviser can be distributed at the collector or commissioner level but the policy in this regard should be formulated by the state government. The High Court also noted that the SVP Hospital in Ahmedabad was not providing the amount demanded by some private Kovid hospitals as per the demand. The High Court has asked the government to look into the matter and file a reply.
The government should work seriously to awaken the people to break the chain of corona. So that the case may stop growing and give the government whatever it deems fit. These guidelines should be published in print, social, electronic and digital media. The High Court has fixed April 27 for further hearing in the case.
