standard 3 to 8 Learning Book - Swadhay Pothi

After 290 days, schools and colleges of standard 10 and 12 will open in Gujarat from January 11
The decision to open the school will apply to every board-Minister of Education
Even for young children, schools will start soon, mass promotions will not be available
Attendance at school is not required, but parents must provide consent
75% of guardians asked this question in a discussion with Divya Bhaskar

The Gujarat government on Wednesday took a surprise decision and announced to open Std. 10 and 12 schools and colleges from January 11. While preparations for vaccination are underway across the country, including Gujarat, parents were dissatisfied with the decision to open schools even before the arrival of the vaccine. In a discussion with Bhaskar, 75 per cent of parents questioned the government on whether they were ready to send their children to school but whether the schools were ready to protect their children from infection.

Parents have to give consent
Announcing the opening of schools, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said the decision would apply to schools in each board's state. However, parents who want to send their children to school will have to give their consent in writing. The state government said guidelines for compliance with SOP (Standard Operating Protocol) including mask-social distance have been sent to schools. The education minister also said that a decision on opening schools for young children would be taken soon. He also clarified that mass promotion will not be given.

Online education will remain the same, as many exams will be taken as taught
3 important aspects of decision making
1. Will apply to all boards: This decision to open a school will apply to all boards in the state. This will apply to government schools, grant-in-aid-independent organizations and institutions under the Department of Social Justice Empowerment.
2. Attendance not compulsory: Attendance at school will not be compulsory. Students coming to the school will have to give approval in the form with the consent of the parents. Necessary forms for this have been sent to the schools. The current online education system in the state will also remain the same as usual.
3. No Mass Promotion: Students will not be given Mass Promotion. Examinations will be conducted for as many academic work as have been studied in the school. The state government is also considering when to start other standard classes and a decision will be taken soon.
