How to get a marriage certificate:

Following are the documents and instructions required to go for marriage registration.

Form No. 2 and Form No. 1 (Online form is available.)
True copy of the bride and groom's School Living Certificate
True copy of groom's bride's election card and ration card
Two passport size photographs of both the bride and groom and the wedding photo of the couple
Example of Gore Maharaj, Kankotri original and Xerox copy
Gore Maharaj as well as original copies of election cards and ration cards of witnesses from both the parties
Keep all evidence in two copies. As well as the signature of the bride and groom in evidence.
Keep all original documents together.
Fill in the marriage application form with a black ball pen and check with the clerk and fill in the inward.
Both the bride and groom should be present at the time of marriage registration.

Marriage registration fees are as follows.

 

1. If the registration is done within one month from the date of marriage, the fee is Rs. 5 / -

. If the registration is done within three months from the date of marriage, the fee is Rs. 12 / -

. If the registration is done more than three months from the date of marriage, the fee is Rs. 25 / -

Two agreement stamps of Rs. 100 + 100 on the form as well as Rs. 3 court stamp will have to be affixed.
Forms for marriage registration are available free of cost from the marriage registrar.

   How to register a marriage:

In order to register the marriage, the parties to the marriage have to prepare the list of registration in the specified form. Fill in Form No. 2 and Form No. 1 for marriage registration, the form has to be signed by two witnesses. The Registrar will then check the form and all the evidence provided. And will issue a marriage certificate if deemed appropriate. You can get marriage registration certificate in both Gujarati and English languages.

Advantages of marriage registration:

Marriage registration is mandatory in some circumstances.
