Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced the launch of a state-wide vaccination campaign against corona across Gujarat from January 16 through social media. Welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement to launch the campaign across the country from January 16, he also congratulated him. Gujarat has completed all the pre-preparations for the launch of this vaccination campaign. At the beginning of the vaccination campaign, priority will be given to doctors, health workers and front line workers like Corona Warriors, the CM said in a social media post. More than 2 lakh health workers in Gujarat, including 17,128 trained vaccinators, will be involved in vaccination.
Gujarat is fully equipped for Covid-19 vaccination. Preparations for vaccination were reviewed at a core committee meeting held today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel. Gujarat has the capacity to store more than one crore vaccine doses. 17,128 trained vaccinators are ready for vaccination. 27,934 session sites and 2,236 cold chain points are available. The state has 3,084 government health facilities and 15,942 private health facilities fully equipped for vaccination.
Giving these details, Dr. Jayanti Ravi, Principal Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, said that more than 2 lakh officers and employees of Health Department, other departments, development partners and voluntary organizations will be involved in the vaccination campaign in Gujarat.
According to the guidelines of the Government of India, in the first phase, priority will be given to government and private health workers in vaccination. For this, details of more than 4.33 lakh health care workers have been collected. Then the priority will be given to the frontline workers attached to the police revenue and urban development department. For this, information of 3.47 lakh frontline workers has been collected so far. In the next phase, data has been prepared on 1.06 crore people over the age of 50 and 2.71 lakh persons with other diseases under the age of 50. An expert group of doctors has also been formed to guide and guide successful vaccination planning.
Dry runs have been organized at 931 session sites in all 248 talukas and 26 zones of Gujarat for smooth vaccination. Chief Secretary Anil Mukim visited the session site of Ahmedabad district and inspected the entire process. Jayanti Ravi and Health Commissioner Jayaprakash Shivahare visited the session site in Sabarkantha district.
New cases of corona have been steadily declining as a result of intensive efforts by the state government. Today 675 new patients of Corona have been registered. A total of 1,01,01,064 (one crore, one lakh, one thousand, sixty four) tests have been conducted in the state so far. To date, there are only 8149 active cases in Gujarat. So far 2,38,965 patients have recovered. The recovery rate in Gujarat is 95.10 percent.
