Corona: Vaccination may start from January, says Serum Institute CEO, conditions will return to normal by October next year.


Adar Poonawala, CEO, Serum Institute of India (SII), said the vaccination process could begin in the country from January. Poonawala hopes to get approval for emergency use of the vaccine made by his company by the end of this month. However, licensing for large-scale use may still take time.

Speaking at the Economic Times Global Business Summit, Poonawala said that once 20 per cent of the country's population was vaccinated, the situation would return to normal by October next year.

BJP national president JP Nadda Korona has come positive. Three days ago they went on a tour of Bengal. There on December 9 and 10 they held road shows and rallies. Nadda has reportedly infected himself on social media. All of their previous programs have also been canceled.

They wrote on social media that May tested early for corona symptoms and the report came back positive. I am following all the rules of home isolation as per the advice of doctors. All those who come in contact with me should isolate themselves and get themselves examined.



The number of corona patients in the country is steadily declining. 3 thousand 138 active cases have decreased in the last 24 hours. There are now a total of 3 lakh 54 thousand 904 active cases in the country, which means that so many patients are undergoing treatment. This is the lowest in the last 148 days. Earlier on July 17, there were 3 lakh 59 thousand 679 active cases in the country.

Only 11.74% testing in the country so far
Out of a population of 138 crore, only 11.74% or 15 crore 26 lakh people have been able to undergo corona test. Out of which 6.45% i.e. 98.57 lakh people have been infected. If you look at the testing statistics, 1.10 lakh people out of every 10 lakh population in the country are being investigated. A similar population of 6.55 million is being investigated in the United States and 1.20 million in Brazil.


In the capital, Delhi, 33 out of every 100 people were examined
The highest testing has taken place in the capital Delhi, one of the top 10 infected states in the country. Out of a population of two crore, 33.61% have been screened so far. That means 33 out of every 100 citizens are being tested for corona. Andhra Pradesh ranks second in this case. Rajasthan is in the worst position in terms of testing. Of the 77 million people here, 6.16% have been diagnosed so far. In Uttar Pradesh, the largest state in the country in terms of population, 9.37% or 21 million people have been screened.

98.57 lakh cases so far
So far 98 lakh 57 thousand 380 people in the country have come under the control of Corona. In which 3 lakh 54 thousand 904 patients are undergoing treatment, while 93 lakh 56 thousand 879 people have recovered. 1 lakh 43 thousand 055 people have died.

Corona updates

The Kerala government has announced a free vaccination drive in the state. The corona vaccine will be given free to all the people of the state, Chief Minister P Vijayan said.
Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil VJ has written a letter to the Union government asking it to give priority to public representatives i.e. MPs, MLAs in vaccination. "This representative comes among the masses," Vijay wrote. That is why they should be included in the priority list.
The status of the five states
1. Delhi
In the capital, Delhi, 1935 people were infected with the virus on Saturday. 3191 people recovered and 47 people died. So far 6 lakh 5 thousand 470 people have been affected by the transition. In which 5 lakh 78 thousand 114 people have recovered. The death toll from the transition has now risen to 9,981. 17 thousand 373 patients are undergoing treatment.

2. Madhya Pradesh
1282 new cases of transition were reported in the state on Saturday.1418 people recovered and 9 people died. So far 2 lakh 22 thousand 397 people have been infected. In which 3391 patients have died, while 2 lakh 6 thousand 591 people have recovered.


3. Gujarat
1204 people were infected in the state on Saturday. 1338 people recovered and 12 people died. So far 2 lakh 26 thousand 508 people have been affected by the transition. In which 13 thousand 381 patients are undergoing treatment, while 2 lakh 8 thousand 967 people have recovered. The death toll from the transition has now risen to 4,160.


4. Rajasthan
A total of 1,307 people were infected with corona in the state on Saturday. 2913 people recovered and 14 people died. So far 2 lakh 89 thousand 999 people have been affected by the transition. In which 16 thousand 821 patients are undergoing treatment. 2 lakh 70 thousand 650 people have recovered. The death toll from the transition has now risen to 2,528.
